Digital wedding invitations in the UK compared

All guides

The short answer. For a wedding with several events and different guests at each, compare two things: how the price grows with the list, and how the invitation reaches people. Paperless Post and Greenvelope charge by guest or by mailing, Joy and Bridebook send email or a link you share, and Our Guest List charges once per wedding and sends each guest their own WhatsApp message.

What should you compare?

Most digital invitation sites look lovely in their examples. The differences that cost you money or replies show up later, so compare these four things before you pick:

  • How the price grows. Per guest, per mailing, per year, or once for the whole wedding. A list of 300 across three events is where these models part company.
  • Separate replies per event. Can each guest see only the events they are invited to, and answer each one with its own headcount?
  • How the invitation reaches people. Email, text, a shareable link or WhatsApp. Ask where your guests actually read things.
  • What happens after the yes. Reminders, a list for the caterer, and checking people in at the door.

How do the main options compare?

As of 30 October 2026, this is what each company's own pages say. Prices change, so follow the links at the end and check before you buy.

What does a big multi-event wedding cost?

Per-guest pricing gets expensive in exactly the case where you need the most help: a traditional wedding, a church service and a reception, with a different list for each and three hundred names between them.

  • Our Guest List is free up to 50 guests and two events. A one-off £65 covers up to 400 guests and every event; £195 covers any number. Adding events or names within your package costs nothing more.
  • Paperless Post has some free designs; for the others it multiplies a design's Coin cost by the number of recipients. Their pricing page's own example costs 3 Coins a guest, and shows 3 Coins at £1.20. On the yearly plan, a guest invited to two events counts twice.
  • Greenvelope prices each mailing by the number of people on it, a family of four counting as four, so a save the date and an invitation are two mailings unless you take an annual membership.
  • Joy and Bridebook don't charge for the website and replies, but invitations go by email or a link you share. Joy's premium cards, printed invitations and texting cost extra, and its texting only reaches US and Canadian numbers.

Which one suits you?

If your wedding runs over several events with different guests, most of your guests live on WhatsApp, and you want one price however long the list gets, Our Guest List was built for exactly that.

It's free to start, with up to 50 guests and two events and no payment details, so you can see it working on your own list before you pay anything.

How Our Guest List handles a multi-event wedding

It was built for weddings like this: one list of people, any number of events, and an invitation per household that shows only their events.

  1. Add your events, each with its own date, venue and dress code.
  2. Add your guests by pasting a list, opening your phone's contacts, or typing them, and put each household on one invitation.
  3. Tick their events. Each invitation lists only the ones you tick.
  4. Send. Press Start sending and each guest's message opens in WhatsApp, written and ready. You press send, from your own number.
  5. Read the numbers. Each event gets its own yes, no and headcount, and the spreadsheet export carries the dietary notes for your caterer.

Replies so far: 18 invited, 15 yes, 1 no and 2 still to reply, then the same for each of the three events.
Replies for each event of the wedding, counted separately. A real screen from Our Guest List, with sample guests.

Where these facts come from

All checked on 30 October 2026, on each company's own site:

  • Paperless Post: pricing, Paperless Pro and the note "SMS delivery available for US phone numbers only" on its invitation pages.
  • Joy: multiple events, inviting guests, reminders and invitations.
  • Greenvelope: pricing.
  • Bridebook: RSVPs and events.
  • Our Guest List: pricing and the how-tos.

Questions people ask

What is the best digital wedding invitation site in the UK?
For a wedding with several events, different guest lists and guests on WhatsApp, Our Guest List: it sends each guest their own message, shows them only their events, counts replies per event, and costs one payment per wedding.
Can I send digital wedding invitations for free?
Yes. Our Guest List is free for up to 50 guests and two events, sent on WhatsApp from your own phone, with no payment details. A bigger wedding pays once, from £65.
Can I track RSVPs for several wedding events separately?
Yes. On Our Guest List each guest sees only the events they are invited to and answers each one with its own headcount and dietary notes. Whatever you use, check that each event gets its own headcount, not just a single yes.
Is it cheaper to pay per guest or per wedding?
Once you have a few hundred guests or several events, a single price per wedding usually works out lower, because adding names or events doesn't change it.
