Our Guest List vs Paperless Post
The short answer. Paperless Post has some free designs, but its premium ones cost Coins for every guest you send to, multiplied by the design's cost, with envelopes, liners and stamps priced on top. Our Guest List charges once for the whole wedding, gives each event its own reply, and sends each guest their own WhatsApp message from your phone.
What's the main difference?
They start from different places. Paperless Post began as online stationery, and on its premium designs charges for each design element and each person it goes to. Our Guest List began as a guest list for weddings with several events, and charges once for the whole celebration.
So the question to ask yourself is which part of the job worries you more: how the invitation looks, or keeping track of 300 replies across a traditional wedding, a church and a reception.
Side by side
As of 30 October 2026, from Paperless Post's own pages and ours:
| Our Guest List | Paperless Post | |
|---|---|---|
| How you pay | Free for 50 guests and 2 events. Then a one-off £65 (400 guests, every event) or £195 (any number) | Free designs, or Coins for each recipient multiplied by the design's Coin cost. Or Paperless Pro, a yearly plan from $250 for 250 guests |
| Several events | Any number on one invitation, each guest seeing only theirs | On the yearly plan each guest counts once per event; we found no page on separate replies per event |
| Sending | Each guest's own message on WhatsApp or iMessage, from your phone, or by email from us | Email through Paperless Post, text to US numbers only, or a shareable link you paste anywhere |
| Design | Themes, your own colours, your photo on Tailored, a wax-seal envelope and an 8-second scene on every plan | A design library, with envelopes, liners, stamps and backdrops priced in Coins |
| After the replies | Reminders, a spreadsheet for the caterer, a guest website, door check-in | Real-time analytics and broadcast messages on the yearly plan |
What does each cost for a 300-guest wedding?
Paperless Post's pricing page tells you to multiply a design's Coin cost by the number of recipients. Their own worked example uses 3 Coins a guest, and their calculator shows 3 Coins at £1.20. So, on that example, 150 household invitations would be 450 Coins, roughly £180, before any extra envelope, liner or stamp. Bigger Coin packs may cost less per Coin, so check their checkout for your numbers.
On Our Guest List, 300 guests across any number of events is Tailored: a one-off £65 for the whole wedding, envelope and scene included. Adding the cousins later, or a thanksgiving service, doesn't change it.
Why couples choose Our Guest List
- Several events, different guests. Tick a guest's events and their invitation shows only those, with a separate yes, headcount and dietary note for each.
- Guests on WhatsApp. Each message arrives from your own number, addressed to them by name, with a picture of their invitation in the same message. For families across the UK, Nigeria and Ghana, that is where people read.
- Households. One invitation for a family, and "Yes, all of us" answers every person for every event in one tap.
- The price stays put. One payment for the whole wedding, however many events you add: up to 400 guests on Tailored, or any number on Bespoke.
- The day itself. Each guest who says yes gets a pass, and whoever is on the door can check names without an account.
See our guide to sending wedding invitations on WhatsApp for how sending works.

You can try Our Guest List free with up to 50 guests and two events, with no payment details, and only pay (from £65) if your list grows past that.
Where these facts come from
Checked on 30 October 2026: Paperless Post's pricing, Paperless Pro and shareable link pages, the note on its invitation pages that SMS delivery is for US phone numbers only, and our own pricing.
Questions people ask
- Is there a Paperless Post alternative for multi-event weddings?
- Yes. Our Guest List was built for weddings with several events: each guest sees only the events they are invited to and answers each one separately, every invitation goes out on WhatsApp, and you pay once per wedding rather than per guest.
- How much does Paperless Post cost for a wedding?
- It depends on the design and the guest count. Their pricing page multiplies a design's Coin cost by the number of recipients, and their calculator shows 3 Coins at £1.20, before any extra envelope, liner or stamp. Our Guest List is one payment for the whole wedding, from £65.
- Can Paperless Post invitations be sent on WhatsApp?
- You can paste a Paperless Post shareable link into WhatsApp, but it is one link for everyone, and Paperless Post's own text sending only reaches US numbers. Our Guest List writes each guest's own WhatsApp message with their personal link, so every reply is tied to the right person.
- Does Our Guest List have an animated envelope like Paperless Post?
- Yes. Invitations open on a sealed envelope that the guest taps to open, followed by an eight-second scene, on every plan including the free one.
